Fake image generated by AI about Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron
In the realm of artificial intelligence, the advent of AI-generated images marks a paradigm shift, blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction.Ā These meticulously crafted visuals exhibit a level of realism that even the AI itself finds challenging to discern.
Instances Where AI Itself Struggles to Differentiate:
Complex Backgrounds: Investigate scenarios where AI encounters challenges in distinguishing intricate backgrounds, leading to potential misinterpretations.
Ambiguous Contexts: Explore situations where the lack of contextual understanding poses difficulties for AI models, resulting in the generation of images that are deceptively realistic.
Cross-Domain Challenges: Examine instances where AI-generated images seamlessly blend into various domains, making it difficult even for the AI system to pinpoint the origin or authenticity of the content.
Adobe Stock Implements Measures Against Misleading AI-Generated Images
Adobe Stock, a stock image platform, has announced stringent measures against AI-generated images that may give the appearance of depicting genuine, noteworthy events. Additionally, the platform is implementing new strategies to curb the misuse of its images in ways that could potentially mislead users.
Starting from 2022, Adobe allows contributors to upload and sell AI-generated images, with the condition that they must indicate whether the image is generated by AI during the upload process. Once successfully listed, the image will be explicitly labeled as “AI-generated.” In addition to this requirement, submission guidelines remain the same as for any other images, including the prohibition of uploading illegal or infringing content.
However, according to the Australian website Crikey’s report, searching for keywords related to Israel, Palestine, Gaza, and Hamas on Adobe Stock reveals a significant number of AI-generated images. For instance, the first result displayed when searching for Palestine is titled “Israel and Palestine conflict generated by artificial intelligence.” Other images depict protests, on-site conflicts, and even scenes of children fleeing explosion sites, all of which are generated by AI.
Challenges in Achieving 100% Human Resemblance with CGI in Hollywood Films
Currently, Hollywood films occasionally incorporate characters created using CGI, but they still fall short of achieving 100% resemblance to real humans, making it possible for viewers to distinguish between the CGI and real human characters.
As the amount of learning increases, AI can essentially create “anyone,” and there are no flaws that would reveal it to be a CGI character. If combined with motion capture to make a film, a flawless virtual star is instantly born, perpetually young and beautiful. However, this also means that all future images may lose credibility, making it difficult for viewers to discern the boundary between reality and virtuality.
